On the 29th April 2010, we opened the Onside William Tyndale Sports Pitch in great ceremony with Gunnersaurus, the William Tyndale school brass band and the celebrity singer Goldie.

The sports pitch is a fantastic asset for the school and the local community.  The project was funded largely by the Football Foundation, Islington Leisure, Arsenal in the Community and the Islington Police.  The bids were put together and submitted by the Charitable Trust to raise money for the school.

A huge contribution was also raised by the parents, carers, children and staff of the school in two events in particular:  the Sponsored Wheelie and the Auction of Promises.  We managed to raise a whopping £29,000 from the school community and a further £5,000 from the Family and Staff Association. 

The pitch is used by the school during the day and can be booked by the community in the evenings and at weekends.  If you would like to make a booking, please visit the Better website here.
